The best part of being in Kappa Delta are the genuine bonds formed among the women of our sisterhood. As a sorority, we participate in many events each semester geared at enhancing our sisterhood. During the fall, our chapter goes to Linvilla Orchards and holds a retreat! Each semester we hold three formals where we get to dress up and dance the night away: Grabba-Date, Cocktail, and Formal. Additionally, with each new incoming pledge class in the spring, we hold a sleepover/retreat so that the new girls can get to know their brand new sisters and find a home in Kappa Delta.
In the spring, Kappa Delta hosts its annual Shamrock event to raise money for Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA) and it is our biggest philanthropy event of the year. The Villanova student body gathers in the Quad to watch teams compete in playing cornhole. We also host "Pinwheels for Prevention," a day when the sisters create a pinwheel garden to represent and support victims of child abuse.
Kappa Delta also supports the Confidence Coalition, a movement that brings together all individuals, organizations and companies committed to promoting confidence among women and girls. On behalf of this coalition, Kappa Delta celebrates International Women's Friendship Month in September by setting up a table at the Oreo where students can write small notes of appreciation to their friends that Kappa Deltas hand-deliver to the dorms all over campus.
Twice a semester, Kappa Delta also brings local Girl Scout units to campus to support and influence these young girls to follow their dreams and aspire to be the best version of themselves.
