Kappa Delta is a collegiate women’s fraternity that was first founded on October 23, 1897 at State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, Virginia. Kappa Delta's founders were four very different women who ranged in age from 15 to 23, yet all brought a singular sense of purpose to this particular endeavor. Their dream was to create something more lasting than a club -- a sorority! It was to be an entity that would grow beyond their own chapter at State Female Normal School, but they never dreamed that it would grow into an organization of nearly 230,000 women, more than 154 active collegiate chapters and more than 500 chartered alumnae associations nationwide.

The Eta Theta chapter was founded at Villanova University on April 4, 2004. Our chapter is committed to the values of sisterhood, loyalty and greatness that Kappa Delta’s founder’s inculcated into the sorority and we stick by the official Kappa Delta motto, “Let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful and highest.”
